The National Youth Orchestra of Germany gives many young musicians the opportunity to gather important experiences in a symphonic orchestra. Many former members have become professional musicians or teachers. The Berliner Philharmonic Orchestra, Germany's most prestigious orchestra, for instance is currently home to 18 former members of the National Youth Orchestra. Some of our most prominent alumni are Sabine Meyer, Christian Tetzlaff, Reinhold Friedrich, Wolfgang Bauer, Alban Gerhardt, Tabea Zimmermann, Heime Müller and Christoph Poppen.
