Anniversary "50 Years National Youth Orchestra of Germany"

The National Youth Orchestra of Germany celebrates its 50th anniversary with a festive line-up. Together with more than 400 alumni, friends and sponsors, the orchestra presented an extensive birthday program to more than 4,500 guests and a high media presence at the start of its anniversary year.

"The foundation of the National Youth Orchestra in the years around 1968 was a sign of the timeless importance of music as a cultural heritage, as an artistic expression of the respective present and as a bridge between cultures and generations. Still today, the orchestra fulfils this mission in an exemplary manner; in every single concert, great art is created in an inspiring, electrifying quality," emphasises the president of the German Music Council Prof. Martin Maria Krüger in his laudation.
