What does freedom sound like? The Campus Project 2023 of the Beethovenfest Bonn answered this question with an unusual concert – a mixture of fixed (composed) and loose (improvised) elements. Young musicians from Afghanistan, Iran and Germany were part of the project. Traditional Afghan and Persian instruments were integrated into the ensemble of classical European instruments. Under the direction of the German-Iranian conductor, composer and singer Cymin Samawatie, a musical exchange across borders was created.
